The 20th of November marks the anniversary on which the United Nations adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989. This day is observed as a day of activity devoted to promoting the welfare of children.
It is a day where the world made a promise to children: “That we would do everything in our power to protect and promote their rights to survive and thrive, to learn and grow, to make their voices heard and to reach their full potential.”
However, I think we can agree that the simple pleasures that we take for granted such as the right to education, can be drastically improved. With a dwindling enrolment rate of Syrian refugee children in schools, we have to ask ourselves, what more can we do?
The BOB Foundation Ltd. has a current campaign that aims to raise $1000 to print and design 100 T-Shirts. The sales of those T-Shirts will be able to fund the annual education fees of 18 Syrian children in Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. The annual education consists of school fees, uniforms, books and stationery. It is a small contribution to a huge cause.
